Mania
‘Mania’ is a special Italian decorative paint that can create a semi-glossy metallic feature, highlighted by different shades and a touch of delicate pearlescence. Brush, roller or (plastic) trowel can create very different looks based on the application techniques; multicoloured applications can create an even greater variety.
This special Italian designer finish can be applied on painted or plastered surfaces, but also on mortar or roughcast, travertine or other, more textured surfaces.
Application
If you are planning to apply Mania on a dusty, chalky or high porous area, you should use Atomo (To be applied before the Universal Primer) This will help to consolidate the surface!
When you are using Mania you must apply a Universal primer. You will not need a protector for this paint. The thickness and opacity of this paint allows you to apply it by roller, trowel or even a sponge

For the best effect and to enhance the opacity, please ask our team to colour the primer for you. As this paint can change it’s appearance significantly based on different application methods (tools) it’s always a good idea to experiment with a spoonful on a board or a part of the wall.
Trivia
Applying metallic wall finishes is a fairly new phenomenon, although metallic paints have been used since the ’20s as car paints. These coatings’ metallic particles were actually real metal (eg. aluminium to achieve a silver effect) and therefore were quite heavy and without a clear protective coating they oxidized very quickly. The modern metallic (iridescent) finishes are created with natural materials, are water-based and much lighter, and what’s even more important, they have a stunning colour and effect resistance.
