Marcotherm primer also improves cohesion, evens the absorption of the substrate and is the suitable binder for decorative coats like Marmorino, Intona, Travertino, Intonachino and various medium or large-grain interior and exterior decorative plasters.
Marcotherm can be applied on wood, metal, glass, plastic and virtually any interior and exterior surface; it’s arguably the strongest bonding agent for Italian plasters on the market. Please be aware that for smooth finishes either a Marmorino base coat or a thicker first coat of the chosen fine finish is required, due the Marcotherm’s grain.
Q: Can Marcotherm be applied in wet rooms, shower cubicles or exteriors?
A: Yes, this is the suitable primer for these areas, but please aware that due to the grain of Marcotherm smooth finishes need a thicker first coat or another coat of a large(r) grit decorative plaster before application can commence.
·
Q: Do I really need a primer? Is PVA suitable as a primer?
A: Marcotherm is the proven solution for a very affordable price for interiors and exteriors. No other primer has tested, guaranteed results and many of them failed.
·
Q: Why is it advisable to use a fixative before the primer in certain cases?
A: Please see the description of the advised fixative. Many of them consolidate the structure of the freshly built or old wall to enable the primer to settle and work. Also, the final, decorative finish coats should not be affected by a changing substrate structure!
·
Q: Why do you offer a textured and a smooth primer? Why are there different primers?
A: This textured primer is not just suitable for exterior areas, wet rooms and interiors, but more importantly, the sand gives better grip and creates a better base for decorative plaster applications. Please be aware that for smooth and metallic finishes a fine, smooth primer should be used.
·
Q: What’s the shelf life of this product?
A: Undiluted and stored correctly Marcotherm remains usable for at least 2 years.
