This special Italian designer paint creates different shades from satin-like look to matt-ish and this causes soft highlights on the surface which reflect the light differently, just as it would be real damask fabric. This special metallic finish has a distinguished, high definition and expensive shimmer similar to the highest quality silk and metallic wallpapers, but without lines and with a completely customisable pattern and look.
This water-based emulsion paint with resins has a very low VOC level is odourless, easy-to-apply and creates a hard and elastic film which has excellent resistance and is easy to maintain and clean.
Damask is offered in a variety of colours not presented here, please contact our sales team for further details.
When you are using Mineral you must apply a Universal primer. You will not need a protector for this plaster. The thickness and opacity of this paint allows you to apply it by roller, trowel or even a sponge
Impera Italia’s Advice™
Flattening the surface on the second coat with a plastic trowel or Venetian plaster spatula can create a more “compressed” look, but a half coat of roller or sponge application can also create a distinguished effect.
The name of Damask is derived from the city of Damascus and was one of the basic waving techniques in the Middle Ages.
A: This product is washable, but not waterproof.
Q: How strong is Damask? Is it scratch proof?
A: It creates a thick, durable and flexible coating which is easy to maintain. Please let us know if it was specified for an industrial/commercial project and our sales team would be happy to provide you with protective options.
Q: How accurate are the colours of this designer paint?
A: Colours are achieved by using colouring machines with a high accuracy, but to ensure the consistent application please purchase one batch for the complete project and apply it on a surface (board of wall) for approval to see the final effect.
Q: Can PVA be used as a primer / do we even need a primer?
A: For durability and design purposes it’s crucial that the correct primer is applied. Please see the selection of approved ‘smooth’ primers on our website.
Q: How can this finish be painted/plastered over?
A: The wall or ceiling should be sanded, then cleaned and primed. The paint/plaster can be applied right after the primer gets completely dry.
Q: Do I need a specialist to apply these finishes? Can a painter do it?
A: Please see the application difficulty. For most single-colour effects of Damask no previous training is needed, but of course, experience with paints can be very handy to achieve good opacity and effect.
Q: How long can this paint be stored?
A: It retains it’s quality for at least a year when stored between 5 and 30 °C, protected from sunlight and air.
