Acrysil decora is an interior-exterior decorative plaster with additives such as crystals and granite flakes. With this acrylic-siloxane based decorative plaster extremely durable and resistant outdoor and indoor finishes with natural, stone and granite-like look can be created. The consistency and formulation of the product allows the creation of many different finishes, from highly textured to slightly rough, almost smooth with a wide range of colours.
The finishes created with Acrysil Decora are not just mould and algae resistant (UNI EN 15457:2008 and UNI EN 15458:2008) and don’t permit pollutants or water to penetrate the surface, but are also suitable for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS).
When you are using Acrysil decora you must apply a base using Marcotherm primer. This plaster will not need to be protected on exterior and works similar to a thin coat render.

A: Yes, it is and can be applied in wet rooms, but should be protected with a sealant to make maintenance easier and to ensure durability and water-resistance. Q: Can you put Acrysil Decora over tiles?
A: Before applying this plaster you should ensure that a true and firm surface without movement will be ready as a substrate. A flexible coating with mesh should be applied on top of tiles, followed by a stronger first coat before any smooth decorative application can start.
Q: Can Acrysil Decora be applied on floors?
A: No. Currently only products marked as ‘For floors’, using the correct method and system can be used for that purpose.
Q: How durable is this plaster, is it scratch proof?
A: It’s extremely durable and most scratches simply don’t show, but in case of a commercial or industrial project it can be protected with industrial protectors. If you are looking for enhanced durability, please contact our sales team.
Q: How accurate are your colours?
A: As we employ industrial colouring methods, and because of the experience of our technicians our standard colour deviation for Acrysil Decora is less than 6.5 DeltaE, meaning there is only a small difference between batches and coloured products. To ensure accurate final colour, please purchase a tester pot and consult with your specialist as application methods and protectors can significantly affect the final look!
Q: How resistant are the colours?
A: Due to the fact that the pigments are inserted into the products, they have exceptional colour resistance. Only products with dark colours applied externally might lighten a bit over time.
Q: Do I really need a primer? Is PVA suitable as a primer?
A: PVA and other glues were not devised for coatings of these kinds and generally can not ensure proper bonding and durability. Finishes applied without the proper primers might deteriorate very quickly. The primers supplied by us ensure resistance, bonding and durability; finishes applied with the proper system can last dozens of years!
Q: What do we have to do if one day we want to re-do the wall?
A: This poses no problem, finishes should only be sanded and primed. Heavy texture should be covered with fillers or (gypsum) plaster.
Q: Do I need a specialist to apply these finishes?
A: Please see the application difficulty. It’s highly advisable to contact a specialist or get training if the application difficulty is greater than 3. For training and specialists in your area please contact our sales team.
Q: How long does Acrysil Decora stay applicable when unused?
A: This product has a two year shelf life when stored in shade, protected from direct sunlight, between 5 and 30 °C.
