Impera Italia’s Advice™
You can apply one base coat under Venetian only, but with two coats you can achieve a much more detailed, refined look.
Grassello means ‘fat’ and describes the quality and nature of the lime.
A: No, you shouldn’t apply it outside and use sealers and a sealants in wet rooms. Our sales team will help you if you have any further questions!
Q: What’s the difference between ‘Grassello Naturale’ and the other natural polished plasters Impera Italia offers?
A: This polished plaster is a cost-effective base coat for other Venetian plasters and is not a full finish on it’s own, mainly because of last coat’s application, as it’s much harder to create a high-gloss finish with it. Exceptional glossiness can be achieved through a ‘Venetian’ top coat.
Q: Can I put Grassello Naturale over tiles or on floors?
A: Create a firm, crack and movement free base coat (with a product like Colbeton and our mesh) before any application over tiles and you should not apply Grassello Naturale on floors!
Q: How durable is Grassello Naturale?
A: Our supplier and us have assessed it’s durability similar to other smooth plasters; as a natural lime-plaster you should protect it by wax or industrial protectors in a high-traffic area.
Q: How accurate are the colours of this product?

Q: How resistant are your colours?
A: The colours we insert into the product have great colour resistance and generally do not lighten or change over time.
Q: Do I really need a primer? Can I use PVA as a primer?
A: No, you shouldn’t us PVA or any similar product. For the right look and bonding use our Universal Primer.
