Impera Italia is pleased to offer a 3-day Venetian plastering and micro cement course on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday organised in Ireland, featuring a variety of Italian plasters and paints on walls, corners and large sample boards. Now including Microcement training, so that you can achieve a waterproof, polished concrete finish on walls, floors and even worktops!
Our Venetian Plastering trademarked training system concentrates on the nature of the materials and the traditions and modern aspects of the application and was not made to accommodate the application or materials of a single manufacturer. Our focus is on the applicator and his knowledge and not on the make of the plaster.
This Venetian Plastering course will not only explain the importance but also demonstrate the application of various Venetian plaster base coats, the differences between acrylic and lime-based polished plaster, protectors and colour washes which can enrich and protect the finishes.
Our courses cover traditional and modern Italian and British marble plaster application methods and effects but concentrate on certain aspects – making sure that the finishes are not only beautiful but can meet the current market demand.
You will leave with:
- the necessary knowledge to create a wide range of contemporary and traditional Italian finishes, from high-gloss to textured stone, utilising a variety of Italian plasters.
- the application of various base coats, protectors and colour washes
- a number of demonstrations, technical advice and future
- samples, raw materials from 5 different Italian manufacturers, catalogues

A: Impera Italia, in the past 7 years developed an effective and unique method to teach traditional and contemporary effects. We teach and approve only the highest quality hand-made Venetian plaster finishes and we offer the first-course system focusing solely on how to achieve consistent and high-quality effects with Italian decorative products.
Our method is based on the analysis of more than 50.000 msq of Venetian plaster feature walls and over a hundred thousand working hours and experience, but to ensure that we constantly keep up-to-date with the market trends, we also consulted a number of architects and designers all over the world to have a thorough understanding of the past and future of this applied art, from the specifier’s side.
Finally, the instructors of Impera Italia are all well-known and experienced applicators who applied thousands of square metres and are familiar with all basic and advanced techniques. We believe that only applicators who are committed to constant development and continue to meet clients’ requirements can teach the next generation of artists.
Q: Do you teach on walls?
A: Yes, we do! You will be able to practice on walls and corners.
Q: How can I become an approved applicator?
A: To be an approved applicator, you will need to take the exam for the level 1, 2 or 3 mastery.
The exam dates will be announced when the course is completed and once you have created your first feature walls you can sign up!
Q: Why don’t you cover more finishes? I’ve seen others teaching a dozen or more!
A: We choose to teach these key finishes as these are the most important ones and they are needed to combine other effects. Our aim is to train applicators who fundamentally understand the methods and will be able to create walls once they finish the course. Also, we created the course to make sure the plasterers can absorb all the information provided during the course! Our firm belief is that courses should not incorporate dozens of finishes because of commercial considerations.
Q: I’ve seen some interesting finishes online. Would it be possible to add it to the list of finishes that we learn?
A: Currently -due to the length of the course- we won’t be able to do that, but we will explain, and show how many of the ‘bespoke’ finishes on the market are created.
Q: Do you offer on-site training?
A: Yes, for trade clients who would like to teach their team at their premises we have a special training package. Please contact our sales team for further details!
