Working together, and helping you find your style

Who are we?

Introduction

At Impera Italia, we are passionate about the beauty that Italian decorative finishes can bring to our homes and spaces.

And we wanted to make sure that the materials that inspire us reach a wider audience. To bring the Italian inspiration into UK households, we launched one of the largest selections of readily available, fine Italian materials that can be used for various applications.

From traditional Venetian plaster finishes to innovative, DIY-friendly paints, our materials cater to various needs and styles. We want everyone to have the freedom to experiment with their space and create something truly unique.

Our materials have exclusively been part of a niche industry, but we are looking to introduce a wider audience to the artistry and timlessness of Italian materials. That's why we partnered with Grand Designs Magazine.

Our trusted partners

Uniart London

The beautiful projects you saw in the article, and some displayed
on this page were completed by the wonderful team at Uniart London LTD, a company specialising in the application of Venetian plaster and Microcement.

We have worked with Uniart London for almost a decade now,
and we are honoured to call them the ambassadors, and trusted partners of Impera Italia.

Venetian plaster is a delicate material, that requires
knowledge, experience and a very specific set of skills. Similar to that, Microcement is a finish that should only be applied by trained professionals, who understand the precision it takes. Therefore, having talented and experienced professionals take charge of the application is one of the most important parts of creating the finish you envisioned.

With specialist materials, the final result always speaks for
itself. These projects showcase the skill and talent of the Uniart Team, and we couldn’t recommend them more for your next project.

The essence of Italian Decor

Specialist Finishes

For those who have never heard of Venetian plaster or Microcement before, or only recently learned about it, it can seem like a trend that will eventually fade.

But Venetian plaster, in various forms, has made it from Ancient Egypt to contemporary interiors. Whilst the techniques and methods have adapted, the usage of the materials to this day builds on those traditions.

The way we think of Venetian plaster today has largely been influenced by the Renaissance and architects like Carlo Scampa, who influenced the materials' mid-century revival. But due to the excellent ranges developed, now you can also put your own twist on it and implement unique ideas.

Microcement, as a very modern interpretation of Venetian plaster and Tadelakt, pushed the boundaries even further by offering artistic finishes that can be applied in functional areas, such as kitchens and bathrooms.

DIY Finishes

To translate years of experience into something easily attainable, we have carefully developed an innovative range of affordable, DIY-friendly paints that allow for more personalisation than standard emulsion.

If you are looking to add more personality to your self-build project or renovation, look no further than our easy-to-use DIY paints.

We have intentionally created this range with our paint finishes to make certain applications achievable, even without hiring a professional.

The flows, lines and overlaps of the final finish create a visual effect that adds another layer to the decor scheme, integrating the walls seamlessly into your creative vision.

The appeal of Italian Finishes

Why is it worth it?

A bespoke finish can go from adding interest to larger surfaces, creating an artistic accent piece to functional applications, such as bathrooms and worktops.

No matter which finish you have in mind, the investment always pays off. From eco-friendly credentials and the opportunity to customise the application to fit your vision, to adding value to your property.

The beauty and allure of these natural materials extend back centuries, and their heritage has no doubt contributed to the vast possibilities they present today.
