After completing the course and understanding the application process, you'll gain access to purchasing the MicroQuarz® online and in-store!
The MicroQuarz® is a system of products which are made from mineral materials and water-based resins. The system of materials, due to the product composition, makes the MicroQuarz® ideal for floor applications in commercial projects. Due to the systems tensile strength, it’s perfect for the creation of seamless and uniform floors as well as staircases. Its use is not limited to commercial projects; it works fantastically for walls/ceilings in both commercial & domestic projects.
As part of the course, you will gain a complimentary set of our Britain colours, which consists of 20 hand-applied colour samples. The moodboard set is divided between the 3 Micro-coating systems we offer: Contino, Allover & MicroQuarz®. Furthermore, you will receive a course completion certificate.
This course is designed as a short introduction to the nature of the product and serves to answer any questions about how the system is applied, as well as most of the details that applicators should keep in mind when preparing to carry out an application.
During the course a range of popular topics will be covered. Any questions are welcome and will be answered!
Due to the short nature of the course, and the many layers that the application involves, we will use a rotating board system. This is to allow you the opportunity to apply each of the layers and get a feel for how each coat behaves. The rotating board system means that for every coat you apply, we will have ready a separate board with a dry version of that coat for you to move on to immediately. You are able to take the final board home, to test the durability of the product.
It is important to know that this course is not aimed at teaching trowel skills or how to plaster. MicroQuarz® is a technical product and not very beginner-friendly. We recommend this course for people who already have some experience with plastering and are confident using a trowel. This course is designed to create a theoretical understanding of the application.
Please bear in mind that this is only the first step to understanding the system. To perfect your expertise and application, we highly advise you to practice at home (using our sample kits).
Is this course right for me?
We have designed this course with the time and experience of our applicators in mind. We know it can be difficult to get time off work in order to train. We also know that many applicators that already work with our products, may not need more than a crash course on this type of product. This may be due to previous experience with other Microcements, or perhaps a lot of experience with Plastering or Venetian plaster.
The intention of this course is to share the knowledge of the new system with attendees and cover all the steps of this complex application within a single day. As the application method differs from our other Micro-coating systems, we have created this course, to soley focus the day on exploring this system.

For some apprentices, this can be a bit too fast, and not in depth enough. For this reason, we also have a 3-Day Microcement course that is significantly slower and includes more hands-on time, for those looking to get everything out of the system. This course is focused on the Continuo system, which performs well in low traffic areas such as domestic projects.
If this sounds more like the course you need, feel free to take a look at it on the link below.

This is a perfect opportunity to learn about each member of the group as the course is a great place to start networking!
- This will be followed by a brief description of some of the finishes in our showroom. We will give you some hints and point out applications that we will be discussing in the course, later on in the day.
- The next step, will be to head to the training centre, where we will begin to go through the different coats. Applying them on boards, discussing potential steps require to correct imperfections, as well as things to avoid before moving on to the following coats. In order to maximize the time on the day, for this course, we work on a rotating board basis. This means that after finishing the MicroQuarz HardBase coat, we will have a board for you that has been prepared with the following coat on it and this step will apply for the following steps. Allowing to move on right away.
- Did we mention that lunch is on us? We work with a lovely Italian Deli nearby where we always do our lunches. Positive reviews all around! Lunch time itself can vary, generally we will aim to go between 12-1pm.
- When returning, we will continue with the rest of the coats, until we have finished the application. We will end the day by discussing parts of the application surrounding the Microcement itself. This includes the use of beading, the application of shower trays, as well as using our other Microcement-like coating, All Over.
- Finally, we will return to the showroom, take any questions that course attendees may have, as well as provide the opportunity to speak to the sales team about the general flow of purchasing products, as well as making use of our other services, or even booking on to other courses! You will also get the chance to take advantage of the 15% discount we offer on the date of your course (5% on all Tools), if you wish to take any materials away with you!
- We encourage you to view our CLEARANCE PAGE, as you might find a material available at a lower price, without sacrificing on the quality. It’s a perfect opportunity to see the colour in person and to possible purchase materials for practicing.
- Finally, we will provide you with a signed certificate of attendance, any goodies that were part of the course, then let you make your way! This will typically be around 3:30pm onwards. We try to make sure we answer any outstanding questions. This can sometimes lead the ending to be a little later.
