With the microcement worktop kit -which is a combined, high-quality multi-layer coating system– you can now a harder, more durable finish worktop surfaces. Our microcement is arguably the easiest to apply on the UK market, with an amazing cost/value ratio, that includes more material than any other similar system to make sure you have ample microcement to create a durable, waterproof and heatproof finish for worktops!
Now the kit is available in 5 sqm and 10 sqm sizes to enable you to apply this product on smaller and larger worktops and splashbacks.
Our microcement worktop kit comes with the newly developed TOP ART, which is a harder coating designed to protect the surface against heat, making it perfect for kitchen worktops and splashbacks. You won’t need to worry about maintenance as the resin will ensure that water will not penetrate and the coating will last.

How to Apply Microcement
The application method is simple and straightforward, you should apply one coat after the previous one is dry enough. Please see the below table for further details:

*Continuo Deco coats can be coloured. On walls/ceilings ‘Continuo BASE’ doesn’t need to be applied, but make sure thermal and mechanical movement has been accounted for.
Moreover, when you choose this system you’ll be using a formaldehyde free, water-based and low VOC solution. Our microcement products were classified as A+ (the best rating) Emission Rating (‘Emissions dans L’air Interieur’) by the French government.

Impera Italia’s Advice™
If you sand the coats and apply this finish with a plastic trowel you can eliminate most of the movement and can actually achieve a microcement finish with no or little movement!
Microcement products derive their strength not only from the nature of the mineral-, micronised cement base and their compactness, but also from the reinforcing effect of the resins.
A: Yes, it can be, when you apply it properly it will create a durable and waterproof coating that needs very little maintenance.
Q: Can you apply microcement on tiles / mosaics?
A: Yes, you can. On the other hand, please be aware that you need to apply Pro Link instead of Atomo as tiles / mosaics are non-porous and non absorptive.
Q: Can microcement be applied on floors?
A: This kit is designed for worktops, if you would like to apply it to floors, please see our microcement floor and wall kit.
Q: How durable is your micro cement? Is it scratch proof?
A: Your micro cement coating becomes extremely durable once it achieves it’s complete hardness (7 to 21 days), however, it hardens very quickly and can be walked on after a day. For further information on the hardness please see the manual.
Q: Can I mix the A and B components of the micro cement sealer and sealant in a plastic container?
A: Yes, you can. Please be aware that they only retain their workability for about an hour after you’ve mixed them.
Q: How accurate and resistant are your colours?
A: Our colours are very accurate and resistant due to the nature of the finish and the composition of the pigments.
Q: Can I leave out some parts of the system and still get the same look / finish quality?
A: No, you shouldn’t. This system is proven to work as it is, with the base and top coat, sealer and sealant. We strongly advise against changing the method or materials or leaving out any steps.
Q: Do I need a specialist to apply microcement?
A: You should make sure this beton cire is applied by someone with experience and/or training due to the fact that it has to be prepared and executed differently than most standard coatings. Microcement coatings are not a DIY products!
Q: What’s the shelf life of your microcement?
A: If you store it under the correct conditions the ready-mixed product stays applicable for at least 2 years, sealers and sealants for a year and the powder for 3+ years.
